As a Bloomberg reporter, I covered healthcare, medical technology, and financial and environmental policy. It's the kind of beat where the stakes are real and the source material is dense enough to put most readers to sleep if you let it. I didn't let it. That instinct — find the human thread inside the complicated thing — has driven everything I've done since.

I now run Elevated Writers, a studio that helps executives, scientists, and technical experts inside large organizations find the story hiding in their own work. It's some of the most rewarding work I know: watching a brilliant, exhausted expert rediscover, in real time, why any of it matters.

I hold an M.A. in International Commerce & Policy from George Mason University and a B.A. in History from St. Olaf College, and I speak Norwegian. I remain endlessly curious about ideas at the edge of what's possible — policy, energy, medicine, and the people stubborn enough to work on them anyway.
